St. Charles County, MO—The Middendorf-Kredell branch of the St. Charles City-County Library, located on Hwy K in O’Fallon, MO, will reopen to the community on Wednesday, April 30.

As one of the busiest branches in the Library, Middendorf-Kredell welcomes more than 225,000 visitors and circulates over 950,000 books and materials a year.

Library CEO, John Greifzu said, "The reopening of the Middendorf-Kredell Branch marks an exciting new chapter for our library and the O’Fallon community. This renovation not only enhances the comfort and functionality of the space, but also reflects our continued commitment to providing welcoming environments where people can connect, learn, and grow. We’re grateful to the staff and partners who helped bring this vision to life.”

When the branch opens, patrons will have access to new study and meeting rooms, larger and more accessible restrooms, an updated children’s area entrance, and other improvements to enhance the visitor experience. These include relocating the holds pick-up, returns, customer service desk, and passports. In addition, the electronic Holds Hopper lockers were moved outside to provide 24/7 access to reserved materials.

The ten-month, approximately $2.9 million project also included replacing the HVAC, carpeting, parking lot, and roof. For more information, visit stchlibrary.org/destination2027.

The public is invited to attend the Library's official reopening celebration on Tuesday, May 13, at 11 a.m.
