St. Charles County, MO—The annual Friends of the Library Book Fair will return to The Family Arena August 1-3, 2025.
The Book Fair opens to Friends of the Library members at 9 a.m. on Friday, August 1, and to the general public at noon. More information about pricing and operating hours is available online. On Sunday, August 3, patrons can fill a standard plastic bag with most remaining items for $5, all day. From 1 to 3 p.m. on August 3, nonprofits can pick up books for free; participants are encouraged to register beforehand.
The Book Fair will include a silent auction, available to bid online and in person. This auction features some of the most valuable items at the Book Fair, including a 1965 copy of Dune by Frank Herbert, many volume sets, and more. Bidding ends on Friday, August 1, at 5 p.m. This fundraising event brings together attendees from all over the country and more than 400 volunteers over several days to bring the Book Fair to life. Last year, the Friends had a record-breaking year, raising more than $136,000 over the three-day weekend. The money raised helps support the annual Summer Challenge program, furnishings for Library branches, diaper distribution, and staff development initiatives.
Donations collected throughout the year at any Library branch and the Friends’ Warehouse help make the annual Book Fair possible. Attendees can browse books from all genres and age ranges, puzzles and games, AV materials, and other items.
