Everyone knows the Library has books. Most people also know we also have audiobooks, music, tv and movies, magazines and databases for both research and fun. But, you might not know about some of the other things we offer. Here is a small sampling of some of the unusual or offbeat things you can access with your Library card.

  • VINTAGE SEARS CATALOGS - Do you know what your great grandparents would have worn? What they wished for for Christmas (or birthdays)? Even what type of home they lived in? Get an idea by looking at the Sears Catalog through the years. (Note: This resource is accessible through Ancestry.com Library Edition, which is only available inside the library.)
  • A TIME MACHINE - What was happening on the day you were born? Login to your free New York Times account, then look in the footer for the TimesMachine link to find out. The TimesMachine features over 150 years of New York Times journalism, as it originally appeared.
  • COLORIZED YEARBOOK PHOTOS - Do you ever wish you could go back and see your grandparents as they looked in high school? Want more than an old black and white photo? MyHeritage has yearbooks from schools and universities around the U.S. and all of the images may be "colorized."
  • CHESS TUTORING - Learn chess strategies and improve your cognitive thinking with an expert chess coach available in Brainfuse Help Now. Click on the Online Resources button for access to information on the basics of chess tactics and maeuvers.
  • COUPONS - The Wall Street Journal has a team of experts who gather and verify coupons and discounts every day from your favorite brands. Login to your free WSJ account and look for the Coupons link in the footer.
  • HOW-TO GUIDES - The Wall Street Journaalso offers step-by-step advice on jobs, investing, productivity and more. Login to your free WSJ account and look for the Guides link in the footer.
