Last September, Libby updated how holds are managed. You have holds in Libby, so we wanted to share a quick update you might have missed. Once a hold is suspended, you have 365 days to unsuspend and check it out. After that, the suspended hold will be canceled.
Check Your Holds
To check if you have any suspended Libby holds that will lapse soon, click on Manage Hold on any of your titles. Next to the Unsuspend Hold option, there's a number of days listed that you have to unsuspend that particular hold.
Create a Tag
Don't want to worry about suspended holds lapsing? Instead of placing a hold, mark it with a tag. Tags are a flexible way to keep track and organize titles in Libby.
By creating and marking items with a tag, you can still see the title if a suspended hold lapses. You can use tags to make lists of things you want to read, your favorite titles, what you've borrowed, and more.
Create a new tag in 3 steps:
- Tap Tags in the bottom of the app
- Tap Actions, then New Tag
- Name your new tag, then tap Create
You can find your tags by tapping Tags in the footer. Once you select a tag, you can borrow, sort, and filter tagged titles, and you can export, rename, or delete the tag.
