St. Charles County, MO - The Lunch @ the Library program will return to the St. Charles City-County Library this summer. The program runs from Monday, June 2, through Friday, August 15, and is sponsored by Operation Food Search.

Children 18 and under can visit the Kathryn Linnemann Branch at 2323 Elm Street in St. Charles, Monday through Friday, between noon and 1 p.m. to receive a free meal. The child receiving the meal must be present, and the meal must be eaten at the branch.

“Lunch at the Library is more than just a meal. This program helps kids stay nourished, curious, and ready to grow,” said John Greifzu, Library CEO. “Through our partnership with Operation Food Search, we’re able to provide meals in a welcoming and familiar place, keeping our kids connected to learning, to each other, and the Library.”

Last year, the Kathryn Linnemann Branch distributed 1,621 meals to children in St. Charles County. This year marks seven years since the Library partnered with Operation Food Search. Together, they’ve distributed over 43,000 meals to children in the community.

Registration is not required to participate in this program. Meals will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

Meal distribution occurs on weekdays when the Library is open. The Library will be closed on Thursday, June 19, for Juneteenth and Friday, July 4, for the Fourth of July.
