St. Charles County, MO - The Lunch @ the Library program will return to the St. Charles City-County Library this summer. The program runs from Monday, June 3 through Friday, August 16, and is sponsored by Operation Food Search.
Children 18 and under can visit the Kathryn Linnemann Branch, located at 2323 Elm Street in St. Charles, Monday through Friday between noon and 1 p.m. to receive a free meal. The child receiving the meal must be present to receive it, and the meal must be eaten at the branch.
“The Library is a place where all are welcome no matter your circumstances,” Chief Executive Officer Jason Kuhl said. “We've seen first-hand the positive impact this partnership with Operation Food Search has had on our community. This valuable program is just another way libraries continue to evolve to meet the needs of those we serve.”
Last year, the Kathryn Linnemann Branch distributed 1,168 meals to children in St. Charles County.
“We are entering our sixth year partnering with Operation Food Search to provide free lunches to all kids ages 18 and under,” Outreach Services Manager Kristen Sherry said. “To date, we've served over 42,000 [meals] to kids in our community through this partnership.”
Registration is not required to participate in this program, and meals will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
