Beginning Monday, January 5, 2026, operating hours at most St. Charles City-County Library (SCCCL) branches will change by one hour.
In an effort to provide consistency among services across the district, the Cliff View, Deer Run, Kisker Road, McClay, and WingHaven® branches will all gain one hour by remaining open until 8 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Corporate Parkway, Kathryn Linnemann, Middendorf-Kredell, and Spencer Road branches will now close at 8 p.m. Augusta and Boone's Trail branches will maintain their current hours.
This shift in hours of operations allows for more evening Library programs and events, as well as more time for the community to utilize meeting spaces for evening meetings and events. Patrons will still have access to the Cliff View Branch’s extended Self-Service Hours. An application is required to use these services.
The SCCCL Board of Trustees approved adjustments to operating hours at their meeting on June 17, 2025. The changes are not budget-related, but ensure staff can serve and support the community during busier times of the day, aligning with the hours of other Library branches in the region.
