Going to the Chapel: Catherine’s Library Story

Our lives are filled with important days: birthdays, holidays, anniversaries. Thanks to the Library, Catherine was able to relive a very special day over and over again: her wedding day.

While preparing for a big move, Catherine and her husband found a recording of their 1997 nuptials.

“I told my husband that I needed to look through a box of VHS tapes before I donated or threw them out. He said, 'There's not gonna be anything that we're gonna want to save in there!' Our wedding video was at the bottom of the box. Needless to say, when I held that up, he got really quiet and just slunk away,” Catherine said.

The couple borrowed a Video2Digital Converter from the Library and were able to save the precious recording to view for years to come.

“I'm so very grateful to have the recording of our day,” Catherine said. “I've gotten to see some of our loved ones who have since passed away and see how young and hopeful we were. It's priceless having a way to keep those memories safe for us, for our kids and, hopefully, one day, grandkids to see.”
